Coloring pages 1

Hi guys,
I don't have much to write about this post and some of my upcoming posts as well. I love to just draw cartoon characters more than sketching and shading with pencil. I started drawing pictures for coloring years back (close to 10 years) while I was interning. Ans this actually helped me. I was able to publish this pictures as coloring book for a friend's party. There are close to 100 pictures and I thought I split them up. Feel free to contact me in case of any queries.

Big shot die cutting queries

Hi everyone,

I have been getting a lot of queries with regards to Big shot. Since I am busy with some other work I am unable to post new projects. I have an order to make 100 quilled fridge magnets and 100 gift envelopes which is keeping me super busy. But I wish to mention a couple of things about big shot. I have a query this morning asking whether it cuts burlap (jute). I didn't try until I got this query. No suprises here it cuts beautifully. I used spellbinders die here to cut and run it through my machine 2 times. I tried cutting felt as well the reault was amazing. Big shot cuts paper, burlap and felt. Feel free to send your queries  I will answer them as soon as possible.

Good day

Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit review

Hi Guys,
Today I am giving you all an introduction to big shot starter kit and my reviews about it which I bought from Amazon. I am giving starter kit full 5 stars. I am in love with it. I have some pictures I have taken and I will be giving my views about it. (Before using the machine, please read the manual very well. I read it twice). I will keep this post upadted with new information.

The above picture is the starter kit. What are there in a starter kit?  Big shot machine, Extenable platform, cutting plates x 2, Die cuts, card stock and instruction manual.

Starting with the machine, its blue teal color machine. There is a protective cap at the crank shaft. It has to be removed to fix the handle. They provide us with a washer, screw, end plug and a screw tightner. Its super easy to fix this. Once the handle is fixed you are ready to go. On the right side of the machine I have kept my cutting plates. There are 2 nos. First time users might hear a cracking sound while die cutting ple…

Pirates handmade invitation card

Hi everyone,

Today's project is a pirate themed  birthday invitation card. Since I had to make 100 invitations I kept it simple and neat. When I start making cards for someone I tend to make a sample piece get their approval and then proceed to make more. Here I have used one pirate and one pirate ship.

I drew ship, pirate and coconut tree separately and colored each using markers and used a black gel pen to add some details to it. I made the beach and treasure chest separately and colored them. I cut out the waves using 2 blue color origami papers I had with me. I have a wave shaped scissors and it was handy for me it make the waves. The first two waves are adhered to the paper. As I wanted some dimension for the ship I used two sided tape for the middle wave and added the same and adhered the ship as well. Once all the waves were adhered to the card, I cut out the beach and tree and adhered them to the card. I used two sided tape for the pirate to add dimenson and give it some na…

Tag with tassel

Today’s project is  tag with tassel. Since I don't have a die cutting machine as yet or stencil I drew the tag myself and made tassel using glittered thread to make my own tassel.

I used this floral design and colored it using water colors and cut them out. I trimmed out the design, so it looks like its die cut. I used double sided adhesive to adhere it on tha card stock. I cut the card stock in the shape of a tag and a single hole punch and punch a hole on top of the tag. I put an eyelet on the hole and covered it. I made a tassel using glitter thread. I hope you all like it. Check out my external link for more.

What is color? - coloring pages

Color is the aspect of things that is caused by differing qualities of light being reflected or emitted by them. To see color, you have to have light. When light shines on an object some colors bounce off the object and others are absorbed by it. Our eyes only see the colors that are bounced off or reflected. The sun’s rays contain all the colors of the rainbow mixed together. This mixture is known as white light. When white light strikes a white crayon or marker barrel, it appears white to us because it absorbs no color and reflects all color equally. A black crayon or marker cap absorbs all colors equally and reflects none, so it looks black to us. While artists consider black a color, scientists do not because black is the absence of all color.
All light rays contain color. Light is made of electromagnetic waves. These waves spread out from any light source, such as the sun. Light waves travel at tremendous speed (186,000 miles or 300,000 kilometers per second). Different colors have …

Importance of coloring - coloring pages

Coloring is important, both in the lives of children, and in the lives of adults.  Why is coloring so important? Here are just a few of the many reasons that come to my mind right off hand:

1) Self expression - coloring on a blank "canvas" (piece of paper), is a way for children and adults alike to express themselves.  You can tell a lot about the way a person is feeling by the images that they draw, the colors that they use, etc.  A child who draws skulls and other disturbing objects might be crying out for help, in the only way that he/she knows how.  A child who draws hearts, suns, and other cheerful objects may be expressing satisfaction, content, and love, in the only way that he/she knows how.  It is important to give children a chance to express themselves, and not all children express themselves through words and through writing, many use art.

2)  Color recognition - many children receive their first (and sometimes their only) exposure to the color wheel and art, throu…

Greeting cards

Today’s project is 3 greeting cards using 3 coloring materials (color pencils, markers and water colors). I enjoyed making these cards. Off late I love adding acetate or OHP sheet on top of the cards which I think is different and unique. The first card is using watercolors. I watercolored using Zig colors and hand cut the image out. I tend to make the colors light and quiet simple which I think is neat. I then adhered it to green card stock using glue stick and added transparent sheet to finish up the card.

The second card I made is using my markers. I just love this card and stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I made the images and colored them using my stylefile markers and cut them out. (Sorry for poor photo). I used 6 colors here green, blue, yellow, pink, red and purple). I adhered them to the card using double sided tape to give a raised dimension.

My last card is using color pencils. I love this patterned pot and flower. It gives a lot of scope for using all colors. I loved coloring …
